50 Chinese Footwear manufacturers planned to set-up factories in Indonesia
The president of Indonesia Footwear Association revealed that the government and Industry have a positive attitude towards Chinese Footwear manufacturers planning to set up factories in Indonesia.
He claimed Indonesia is the first choice for Chinese manufacturers for factories relocation. There are at least 50 Chinese footwear manufacturing planned to set up factories in Indonesia including Surabaja. Estimated by the Association, these 50 Chinese enterprises will invest about US 150 million dollars and recruit more than 50,000 employees in Indonesia. The association hopes that the recession on Footwear industry can be invigorated by the large investment from Chinese manufacturers.
Before that, 7 International brands including Adidas, Lacosta, Lotto, Puma, Clarks and Timberland, already set up their factories in Indonesia with investment of US85 millions in total.
