There are at least 50 Chinese footwear manufacturing planned to set up factories in Indonesia including Surabaja. Estimated by the Association, these 50 Chinese enterprises will invest about US 150 million dollars and recruit more than 50,000 employees in Indonesia. The association hopes that the recession on Footwear industry can be invigorated by the large investment from Chinese manufacturers.

Before that, 7 International brands including Adidas, Lacosta, Lotto, Puma, Clarks and Timberland, already set up their factories in Indonesia with investment of US85 millions in total.
